Varun Grover

Varun is a prolific comedian, content creator, poet, lyricist, and screenwriter who has worked on several notable projects in Bollywood over the years. He is also a part of the trip behind “Aisi Taisi Democracy”. 2022 will see him making his directorial debut in Hindi cinema.

Debuted as a screenwriter with Masaan (2015), which premiered at the Un Certain Regard, Cannes Film Festival (2015), and went on to win two awards at the festival.
Won a National Film Award 2016 for Best Lyrics for Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) as well as all other major film awards including Stardust Awards, Zee Cine Awards, Radio Mirchi Music Awards,Global Indian Film Awards, IIFA, and Producers’ Guild Awards for his work in the film.
Lead Writer for Netflix’s Sacred Games.
Debuted as a lyricist with Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), which premiered at the Director’s Fortnight, Cannes Film Festival (2012). Went on to pen the lyrics for Aankhon Dekhi, Fan, Udta Punjab, Newton, Sui Dhaga.
His first graphic novel as a co-writer, ‘BIKSU’ as well as his book of short stories for children ‘Paper Chor’, were both launched at the World Book Fair, Delhi, in 2019.
